My dear friend, Bro. Valmond McCon - - went Home to be with the Lord & Mrs. McCon - - this weekend. I know he will get to finally meet my Dad !
My dear friend and I shared the same church pew (and candy mints) on Sunday mornings for several years - - until he recently had to go to a 'nursing home' for assistance.
The time would pass so quickly as I visited him in his large home in Walker - (b4 he went to the Nursing Home) - as he would share the most interesting stories from long ago - - He loved to talk of his late wife & how good GOD had been to them. The stories he would share about life long ago would always remind me of those stories my Grandma would share when I was a little girl. How I enjoyed those stories !
Oh - and I must mention - - he was still cutting his pasture with the Tractor @ age 98 ! His preacher son lived on the same family property - - so I know he kept a close eye on Grandpa McCon.
Bro. Valmond - - rarely missed Church - - nor Sunday School ! Imagine !
He truly exalted our GOD !
Thou [art] my God, and I will praise thee:
[thou art] my God, I will exalt thee.
Psalms 118:28
I can truly say it is - - 'In Loving Memory'
(He's the one at the bottom right !)
Yes - it was only fitting that Bro. Valmond be honored as the oldest man @ the Livingston Parish Fair -
This was when he was 97 years old.

Bro. McCon - - 97 yrs in this picture.!
